Risks When You Buy Underground Steroids Online

In this article I discuss the potential risks of buying illegal steroids on the Black market.

Without a prescription the only option is to try your luck with steroid dealers online.

Look.

If you're new to this game knowing the risks can help you avoid getting scammed or ending up in ER ward.

Below I've listed the most pitfalls you are likely to face.

Knowing these risks will make you more prepared than 99% of the juice virgins who buy gear on-line.

The Legal Risks

The legal risks involved with buying and using anabolic drugs depends on where you live.

As most of my readers are from North America I will focus on the legal implications of the USA, Canada and UK.

The only way that you can buy steroids legally in the US and Canada is with a a prescription from a registered doctor.

Even with a prescription your choice, apart from testosterone, is very limited because very few steroid drugs are used for medical reasons.

The other option is to buy anabolic steroids illegally on the black market.

In the USA the laws on the purchase, sale, possession and use of anabolic compounds is strict.

In 1990 the Anabolic Steroids Control Act changed the legal status of anabolic steroids to a schedule 3 drugs putting them in the same category as narcotics, morphine and stimulants.

Now, according to US law, if you're caught buying illegal steroids you can face a maximum of 1 year in jail and a $1000 fine.

North of the Border in Canada the laws are more relaxed. Its not illegal to use anabolic steroids for personal use however, it is illegal to buy and sell them.

If you're caught the maximum jail term is 18 months.

In the UK anabolic steroids are classed as a category controlled substance, meaning possession isn't a criminal offence.

However the manufacture, supply and export without a license is against the law, as is buying them online and shipping them to the UK.

Underground Gear v.s Pharmaceutical Steroids for Sale

Pharma grade AAS are made from the purest raw materials and produced in multi-million dollar labs under strict quality control.

But that's not all. Once manufactured it goes through more testing to ensure it's 100% pure and free from any contaminants.

With pharmacy grade gear you're guaranteed that what it says on the label is what you're getting right down to the last micro-gram.

Underground anabolic steroids are not manufactured in a regulated or controlled laboratory controlled environment.

They are produced in what are known in the trade as Underground Labs or UGL's for short.

And don't let the word 'Label' fool you.

UGL's are often makeshift labs that can be someone's kitchen, bathroom or garage.

They're illegal operations, have little to no quality control, testing or hygiene standards.

There primary aim is to make a profit and they will cut corners because they can get away with it.

Most of the raw materials used in the production of underground steroids is exported from China.

BTW, China one of the worst records for quality control and with high levels of heavy metal contamination.

So what doe this mean for you?

Simple. If you buy gear online from underground labs you've no idea what you're getting.

How to Buy Legal Steroids Online

The only legal way to buy anabolic drugs online is with a doctors prescription.

Of course, you will need a valid medical reason for needing them such as testosterone replacement therapy.

However, Mexican steroids for sale in border towns of Tijuana and Mexicali are an option.

But you've got to be willing to risk of bringing them across the US border.

Otherwise getting your hands on pharma grade anabolic's for performance enhancement in the USA, Canada and Western Europe is increasingly difficult.

The main reason for less pharmaceutical grade steroids is because its no longer profitable for big pharma companies to manufacture them.

That's why the black market has taken over.

Black Market Sources

The black market in performance enhancement drugs has exploded over the last 10 years and the Internet is full of online dealers selling gear.

The legit sites selling quality juice are harder to find.

They're discreet and do their business in tightly controlled online forums and membership programs.

But buyer beware: Most of  online steroid dealers are scammers.

Their customers are also discreet, preferring to keep their best sources to themselves, for obvious reasons.

Although hard, they're not impossible to find.

Look, I don't condone the use of steroids I'm not going to give the details of any suppliers.

What I can suggest is that you join as many bodybuilding forums as you can.

But don't be a lurker, ask questions and contribute to the forum.

By gaining their trust forum members are more willing to reveal their sources.

Bodybuilding forums are popular for sourcing reputable online suppliers.

Certain bodybuilder forums have their own sponsored UGLs that members can use.

These UGL's often go through a verification process that makes sure they're not a scammer.

And most importantly, they have a big incentive to provide quality products otherwise members will quickly rip them apart with a steroid review.

One or two negative reviews and they're blacklisted.

Another option is to source locally.

In the US, Canada, UK and Europe home made labs are popping up all over the place were guys are ordering the raw materials from Asia and cooking the stuff on their kitchen stoves.

Home made labs are popping up all over the US, Canada, the UK and Europe.

These guys are ordering the raw materials from Asia and cooking it up on their kitchen stoves.

Then they distribute their gear to the customers they recruit at gyms and martial art clubs in their local area.

If you're deciding to buy steroids online for the first time its better to know beforehand what you're getting into.

To help you out I've listed 4 big risks that you need to be aware of.

Fake/Counterfeit Steroids

Years ago it was easy to spot fake gear as most of the labels on the bottles looked as if they were drawn by a drawn by a 4 year old child.

Not any more.

UGL's at little expense can produce or outsource the production of high quality labels that easily pass as the real thing.

If you do get hold of any gear check the label. If it contains a legitimate address and contact details... that's a pretty good sign that you've got pharma grade anabolics.

What You See Isn't What You Get

When I say fake steroids I mean the gear contained in the bottle is nothing like what its advertised to be.

The following case highlights the growing problem.

The Department of Therapeutic Research and Medicine Evaluation at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Rome analyzed over 15 anabolic steroids bought on the black market(1)

Of the 15 anabolic drugs tested only 2 contained what was advertised on the labels.

In some cases, the vials contained no injectable steroids at all.

Remember, an underground labs priority is profit and they'll try any method to make more money.

Popular methods involve replacing oral steroids with sugar pills or mix injectable's with up to 98% cooking oil.

Also, compounds like Anavar or Primobolan (Methenolone) are more likely to be faked because they're expensive to produce.

Whereas fake Dianabol is rare because its very cheap to make.

Overdosing/Under-Dosing

Overdosing is another common tactic to boost profits and rip you off.

Now, you're probably thinking that getting more gear for what you pay for is a good deal.

On the surface... maybe.

But think again.

Overdosing is used for a reason.

UGL's increase the dose to impress and build confidence in new customers.

As their body builds up a tolerance to the higher dosage they need to keep buying more to maintain the initial gains in growth.

But with each new batch, the UGL gradually lowers the dose.

Under-dosing is another common tactic often used by the "burn and churn" UGL's.

There aim is to make as much profit out of you before getting busted.

Impurities & Contamination

IMO impurities and contamination are the biggest concerns when buying illegal AAS's on the black market.

Even a reputable UGL with high hygiene standards can't guarantee an impurity free product if there using inferior raw materials.

Low grade unregulated raw materials have a high risk of heavy metals contamination.

For example, in 2005 Connecticut's largest news publication the Hartford Courant published the results of a study into UGL  bought steroids from the European black market. (2)

The samples that were analyzed revealed high levels of toxins and other contaminants that included...

  • Small amounts of lead
  • Cattle fattening chemical linked to cancer
  • Flammable liquid used in the production of plastic

Another sample, containing Winstrol had more than double the dose advertised on the bottle.

You may think this is cool... I'm getting more value for money.

But there's a flip side.

You see, most guys overdose anyway.

And if they're doubling up on the dosage thinking its 20mgs when its actually 40mgs they're putting themselves at risk of serious side effects.

The risk of harmful bacteria such as E.coli is much higher in UGL produced drugs.

There's also a  higher risk of bacteria from UGL produced gear.

Again, the risk level depends on the place of manufacture.

A small number of UGL's do run a tight operation and take quality control seriously.

But they're the exception - rather than the rule.

In most cases UGL's can mean the back of a shop in downtown Bangkok, a garden shed, a dealers kitchen or a students bedroom.

In these environments, it's wise to assume these operations don't consider quality control high on their list of priorities.

An Extreme Case

As you've learned buying black market anabolic steroids on-line increases the risk of taking PED's that could be overdosed or even contain a drug completely different to what is advertised on the label.

And if you're really unlucky you could end up injecting yourself with a steroid containing a lethal dose of poison.

According to a study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism this was the fate of a 35 year old Australian bodybuilder. (2)

The bodybuilder who was a long time steroid user was admitted to hospital following a ten day period of nausea, headaches, abdominal cramps and jaundice.

On his possession were a large numbers of PED's including testosterone enanthate and propionate, Deca Durabolin, Trenbolone, Human Growth Hormone (HGH), Clenbuterol and legal bodybuilding supplements.

Initially, doctors suspected an overdose of steroids caused the liver failure but further tests revealed extremely high levels of arsenic in his blood.

The man was immediately put on a dialysis machine, to try and remove the toxin.

But it was too late. The high levels of arsenic had done too much damage to the mans internal organs.

He died 5 days later.

An autopsy revealed the concentration of arsenic in his urine was over 100 times that was deemed medically safe.

Two unlabeled vials, assumed to be performance enhancing drugs were found in his possession and analyzed.

The results revealed that one of the vials contained arsenic.

As the saying, forewarned is forearmed.
